System Operation Questioner

1) When you turn on the Faucet: 

 

a. Does water have a good steady flow?

       i.     This means everything is operating as it should

 

b. Is the water flow from the faucet constant, but slower than it used to be?

    i. This typically means the RO tank has lost some air pressure and needs to be re-filled. This can begin to happen naturally after 6 months of use.

 

c. The water flows fine, then begins to drop off or dribble out?

     i. If this happens after lots of constant use, you may have used more than 4.5 gallons of water and the RO unit needs some time to refill the tank.                                                                                                                                                      The RO unit will take about 1 hour to refill a completely empty tank, or 15 minutes to fill 1 gallon of water in the tank.

         1. If it takes longer than these times to get water again the RO membrane is nearing time to replace.

 

    ii. If it happens quickly when less amounts of water are used,

         1. The tank may be low on air.

         2. Or the filters on the RO unit may be plugging with debris, indicating they will soon need replacement.

 

d. You are not getting any water from the faucet

     i. System could be unplugged

     ii. A shut off valve on the wall or at the tank could have been turned off.

     iii. The RO Storage tank is completely empty of air.

     iv. The 7TO Carbon cartridge is completely plugged.

          1. This filter has 24,000 gallon filtering capacity but the dirtiness or quality of the water its filtering can cause it to plug quicker than that.

     v. The MR350 RO membrane cartridge is plugged.

          1. This cartridge is designed to last 12 to 18 months, but the water quality can shorten that life (typical in areas with very hard water)

     vi. RO unit needs service. Note if it is running or doesn’t turn on.

 

e. Water flow is fine, but the water quality has objectionable odor?

      i. The 7T0 Carbon filter cartridge has exhausted its useful life.

 

f. Water flow is fine, but the quality has changed or is effecting the dough suddenly.

      i. The MR350 RO Membrane cartridge has exhausted its useful life.
